WEDDING CAKE MAKER IN SUSSEX

Hi, I'm Erin wedding cake designer and founder of Birch House Cake Design based in West Sussex.

Thanks for being here and taking a look at my work, I hope you find it inspiring and beautiful.

I started my cake making business in 2016 after deciding to ditch the commute to London to stay at home to look after my son. 

​

I'm from a family of keen bakers and with a background in art and design / fashion I have been fortunate to grow a business which combines both my creativity and passion for baking.

​

I live in Balcombe near Haywards Heath, a small pretty village in West Sussex and now have two young boys who keep me busy alongside the business.

Wedding Cake Design Style

My design style is contemporary, elegant and stylish. I love to use both fresh and dried florals, sourced locally when in season, on cakes as well as structural techniques with wafer and rice paper. I am a passionate about creating beautiful cakes that make a romantic statement on your wedding day.

I absolutely love knowing that cake brings families and friends together in celebration; whether it be the one perfect centrepiece for your wedding day or 50 years later for your anniversary.

Outside of baking I am a keen gardener, and with a quarter of an acre I spend a lot of time planning and planting in my garden. I love roses, peonies and dahlia and have recently changed my vegetable patch into a flower cutting garden to grow more varieties. Here's hoping to use some organic fresh florals on your cakes.

With two children who are growing up in an uncertain world I am passionate about ensuring my cakes are made with love for the planet. 

I seek to source locally made and grown ingredients and flowers; reduce waste in the production of my cakes; and use biodegradable, recyclable and reusable products.
